Statement from Emily Owens, MD.
The opening scene is a 14 year old girl arguing with a 26ish year old doctor who is interning at a Denver hospital. Their argument is centered on why the doctor isn’t cool. Isn’t that what we do the rest of our life? Try to find validation? I knew when I took the gig to review the pilot for Emily Owens, MD for the CW that this was going to have to somehow be a drama that makes you rethink teen angst. What I didn’t realize was how much I would enjoy the drama, banter and play by play in the hospital/high school. As an avid Grey’s Anatomy fan I really didn’t expect to find the time flying while this show was on. I was not ready for the pilot to be over.
CW I think you have found a hit. I think the teens, 20 somethings, 30+ and even me in the 40ish crowd and beyond will be able to relate to this show. I avidly await the continuation of the episodes for October. My dvr will be set CW. Thank you for an entertaining show that all ages can relate to and enjoy. I was given an pre release of the pilot of Emily Owens MD. I was not paid to write this review. I truly enjoyed this show and will be watching it in the fall. This is my honest opinions and they may be different from yours! 😛
