Going Green While Traveling

There are many simple things you can do to go green when you are traveling. If you can stay in a pop up camper or a tent that will save you some green! They make great portable solar panels. You can use them with your tent or camper to create energy for you to use. Some other things we do to save money and be green as a family that travels are:

1. Take a thermos of lemonade with us so that we don’t stop for drinks.

2. Rent movies from redbox to keep the kids entertained instead of buying movies.

3. Pack snack foods so the kids are not hungry in the car.

4. Travel as light as we can so the car is not weighed down which in turn uses more gas.

When we travel our two dogs go with us. So, we have to make sure we have food and water for the dogs as well. Stopping at rest stops to eat our lunch at the side of the road instead of eating fast food gives us a chance to stretch our legs. It is also a great place to walk the dogs. Traveling during the summer is so much fun and can be done in a greener way.
