cheerios trail mix recipe

My kids and I love Cheerios. It’s one of the few breakfast cereals I’ll let them eat because it’s not full of sugar. I wanted to come up with a yummy snack full of protein and not so full of tons of sugar. So I decided on a simple trail mix recipe. I went to Publix to stock up on their savings and get my Cheerios using this buy one get one free coupon. I’ve made so many yummy recipes that start with Cheerios. I made a great granola bar recipe in the past that has cheerios as the main ingredient. If you’re looking for other recipes check them out on the Cheerios recipe page. Let’s check out my Cheerios Trail mix recipe.

trail mix snack recipe
Ingredients:

3 cups Multi Grain Cheerios
1.5 cup nuts (I did peanuts, sunflower seeds and mix nuts all mixed together)
1/2 cup raisins
1/2 cup marshmallows
1/2 cup chocolate candies

Then serve it up to your kids! I think I’ve enjoyed it as much as the kids. It’s super yummy, full of protein and not too much sugar. My kids love to eat it for breakfast as well as for an afternoon snack. It’s just yummy. My oldest takes it as his on the go snack for going to work and college. Nothing like a great snack that will give you the fuel to keep you going! My husband loves to keep it in his desk at work. Then there’s me who eats it while typing up blog posts! Such a great recipe to give you the boost you need to get you through your day.

Which type of Cheerios would you use to make your trail mix?
