July 4th Brownies or Patriotic Brownies #recipe

Are you looking for a fun brownie recipe to make for your next BBQ? Why not make my July 4th Brownies recipe! Check out my recip ebelow!

Patriotic Brownies with Star Frosting

Ingredients:

1 C soft unsalted butter
2 C brown sugar
2 eggs, room temp
2 tsp vanilla
1 C flour
1 pinch….salt
1 C cocoa powder

Directions:

-Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
-Pam spray 9X11 inch baking dish.
-Mix butter and brown sugar in a large bowl until it is smooth.
-Beat in eggs one at a time then add the vanilla.
-In another bowl whisk flour, salt, and cocoa powder.
-Stir in with the wet ingredients until moistened.
-Spread batter evenly in the pan.
-Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.
-Bake until the top of brownie is dry.
-Cool completely before cutting.
-Using a star cookie cutter cut out the stars.

royal icing

Royal Icing:

Ingredients:

2 egg whites
2 C powdered sugar
1/4 tsp cream of tarter
1 tsp almond extract

USA Brownies .

Directions:

-Beat egg whites, powdered sugar, cream of tartar, almond extract together in a bowl.
-If stiff peaks do not form add 1/4 C powdered sugar, beat , test for stiff peak.
-If a stiff peak doesn’t form add more powdered sugar 1/4 C at a time.
-Divide the icing into three bowls. First bowl…remains white. Second bowl…add several drops of red gel food coloring… mix well. Third bowl… add several drops of blue gel food coloring… mix. Put each color of icing in a separate frosting bag with tip.
-Using one icing color in the frosting bag at a time… make lines across each brownie. First red, next blue and lastly on top white.
