Sundrop Cake Recipe

If you’re not from around these parts you may not be entirely sure what Sundrop is. It’s my hubby’s favorite soda. It kind of reminds me of Mountain Dew or back in the old days ski (anyone remember ski?). He doesn’t drink this soda often but he sure does love this cake. Check out my recipe for the Sundrop cake and make one for yourself.

First gather your ingredients.

Ingredients
  1. one box lemon cake mix, one box lemon instant pudding, 3 eggs, 3/4 cup oil, 12 oz of sundrop
Instructions
  1. Mix dry ingredients, add wet ingredients and mix until thoroughly mixed. Pour into greased and floured bundt pan. Bake at 375* for 30 minutes. Let cool 15 minutes then get out of pan and on to plate.
  2. Glaze cake with 1 c confectioners sugar, 1 tsp vanilla, 2 tsp lemon juice (or water). Glaze cake after it's cool. My cake is glazed. However I glazed it when it was still warm and it was absorbed by the cake. So cool the cake first. Don't make my cake fail! LOL

I have never heard of SunDrop but it seems similar to Sprite and I bet it would work just as well 🙂 Thanks for the easy recipe!

No. It’s not similar. Sundrop is more lemony.

I use whatever I have on hand. Sometimes it’s vegetable and sometimes it’s canola.
