Have you ever had a chocolate craving that you just couldn’t ignore? You know the feeling; where you have to have some chocolate or you might just lose it? I had one of those cravings the other day. I tried to ignore it because I have been watching my weight and trying not to snack as often, but it refused to be ignored. The next thing I know, I was online searching for a recipe filled with chocolate-y goodness. And guess what! I found the perfect brownie recipe.
I gathered the ingredients, set them up on the kitchen counter and prepared to create brownie perfection. Butter, sugar, cocoa and toffee? Yea, I’m already in love…..
I got started with melting the butter. Did I mention how much I love cooking with butter? Yum!
The rich chocolate batter is coming together and trust me, it’s decadent.
I had to really restrain myself from eating the batter before my brownies even made it into the oven. But here they are, ready to bake!
I am so glad I made it through the wait, because when I opened the oven door the amazing smell of chocolate washed over me and I think I heard the angels singing ;). These Heath Toffee Brownies that I found over at The Kitchen Magpie were so delicious that I had to share them with you. You really have to make these.
- 1½ cups of white sugar
- ¾ cup of flour
- ¾ cup of cocoa
- 3 eggs
- ¾ cup of butter
- 1 bag Heath Milk chocolate toffee bits
- First you melt the butter in a pot. Then remove from heat and stir in white sugar.Once that is combined, add in your cocoa, then beat in the eggs. Once everything is combined really well, stir in your flour until just combined. The less you stir, the less “cakey” these are going to be a bit more chewy. The more you stir the more cakey they'll be because you're stirring air in.
- Heat oven to 350 degrees
- Line an 8×8 pan ( for thicker brownies) or a 9×13 (thinner brownies) with parchment paper then pour the brownie mixture in.
- Bake in the 350 degree oven for 15- 25 minutes depending on size of pan. I usually do 9x13 and that takes 25 minutes. With the brownies still in the oven pour the bag of Heath chips on top, spreading out evenly. Place back into the oven for 1-2 minutes to make sure they melt, then remove. Top with fudge sauce or chocolate sauce for an even more decadent brownie.
I’m serious, you must make these brownies. You have my word, you will not regret it.
