Bad Hair Day Review
Let me start by saying that, yes, I tend to like the silly movies that my daughter and I watch together. This being the kind of movie her and I would be watching. Any family time spent together is good family time. But on Friday 2/13 when this airs she and I will again be watching this movie. It was charming, funny, sweet and yet completely relevant to teens and kids today. It’s a movie that I know my daughter will enjoy but my son will too. It’s as relevant to him as it is to her.
Put Bad Hair Day on your must see list
The lovely Leigh Allyn-Baker acts and executive produces this movie. Check out my interview with Leigh Allyn-Baker here. She stars as Liz, a no-nonsense federal agent looking to find a missing diamond necklace. She knows that Monica, played by Laura, bought the necklace. The hilarity ensues from their first meeting. All that happens in this movie takes place in one day. One. Day. Monica let’s her followers make all her decisions for her. Liz doesn’t understand why she can’t just make her own decisions. It’s a movie about being who you are and being okay with yourself. Good or bad, flaws and all. Just be yourself. Being prom queen and getting the guy isn’t everything. Going to school and then college is everything! It’s got such a powerful message for girls and boys about being themselves.
So to sum up Bad Hair Day I laughed, I cried, I loved it. It was funny and sweet and made me laugh so many times I lost count. I got to see this movie with Leigh and she loved listening to our reactions to the movie. Our laughter at just the right spots made her happy to know she did accomplish what she wanted with her movie. So see it tonight on Disney Channel. You’ll enjoy being with your child and enjoy watching a good movie for adults and kids!
