Creating A Backyard Wonderland

Creating a backyard wonderland is all about using devices that structure the lawn. Pergolas by Patio Living make the space look classic. A patio makes the lawn look elegant, and the deck makes the lawn look larger than life. Families that include all these elements in a yard are more likely to be pleased with the results.

Value

Any additions made to a lawn are going to increase the value of the house. The homeowner may keep an average home, but an magnificent lawn will make the home much more valuable than it would be otherwise. Prospective buyers will be enchanted by the wonderland that greets them in the backyard.

Pergolas

Pergolas offer a bit of shade in the lawn without functioning like a shed. Members of the family can read, rest and sun on the pergola. Also, the family can grow vines on the pergola or use it as an outdoor meeting space.

Patios

Patios are flat spaces that can house tables and chairs for the family. A patio can extend as far into the yard as the family likes, and the furniture on the patio can be in any style the family prefers. Outdoor eating is simple on the patio, and the family can even fit in their grill or smoker.

Decks

Decks are a great way to make double use of the space in the lawn. The deck can multiple levels that host a variety of activities. Some families prefer to eat on the top level of the deck while the children play on the lower level of the deck. Also, a deck can frame an outdoor pool at the home. The deck is where all the chairs and shower are located while the pool rests in the center of the spacious deck.

Families that make additions to their deck will find that they are adding more usable space to their home by making additions to the lawn. The pergola is a gorgeous feature that looks like it was imported from ancient Greece. The patio is an simple way to host an outdoor meal, and the deck maximizes the space the family has to work with. Each item increases the value of the home while making it more enjoyable to live in.

Putting a deck on my house was the BEST thing we ever did. We spend so much time out there πŸ™‚

We really want a pergola with our next house. The structure of our current backyard doesn’t work with that layout.

We’re luck to have both a deck & patio. on the deck is where we have our table, chairs and umbrella – it’s where we eat meals and hang out. Our patio has a firepit in the middle so we have Adirondack chairs around it – its great to enjoy during he spring and fall/early winter time with a nice fire.

I wish we had a backyard for me to transform. Living in the city has some benefits, but also some downsides.

For my wonderland it would have to have a pool. And a grill. But mostly a pool.

Great tips, thanks for sharing. I live in a duplex so we share our backyard patio with our neighbors… but we have an area that we’d like to make a deck for our own space.
